| 1) 28-08-2008 (id 51) | I researched Laser hair removal for years before I actually decided to take the plunge and do it. Some of my family and friends had it done and had great results. Why should I still shave if I don't have to? Called in to book a consultation, which is free. Amazingly they booked me for the exact next afternoon. I probably should have clued in at this point, that quick is never good. Compare it to going to a restaurant at supper time and no one is there... hmmm? I show up, fill out a pile of forms. I had to sign consents to procedures I never even heard of? Why? Because it's policy, they say. Whatever. Finally I get in for my consult. Dr. Genesis, nice woman, however her office has a speaker in it, that plays the same music as the waiting room... and it's LOUD. Not only did she NOT close the door to her office, right by the waiting room and an office with a complete glass wall for all to see, but she also did not shut off the speaker playing music. She doesn't speak loud, so couldn't hear much of what she said. She speeds through the procedures she feels you should need. I wanted laser therapy... next thing I know I'm getting botox injections b/c according to her I'm haggard... at 35 years old. I'm not just saying that... I seriously was getting them. When I voiced concern over sticking a needle by my eyes for the crows feet she claimed I had (I could hardly see any) she said I had no choice b/c the needle was already filled just for me. Nice huh. I shoulda quit there. BUT I wanted the laser hair removal for my upper lip/chin area. However I also wanted to know how much it would be, time etc blah blah blah for armpits, bikini area and full legs. There was no interest to talk about this... After injecting me with botox, she says goodbye. I said, uh I wanted hair removal.. remember? She's like OH ya, well I have ppl waiting in the waiting room for me... but they want same thing... come sit in. She zips through hair removal... then takes me back again for 'spot tests'. Just like that she leaves the room, a man walks in. Takes over the wand and starts the laser therapy. Worst mistake of my life. Now I fully understand... no pain no gain. However. This crossed the threshold of 'minimal discomfort' they claim one feels. This man shoved one sheet of guaze in my mouth over my teeth. For what? Every time the laser zapped I felt like 100 dental needles were being piereced into my gums while also chewing on red hot tinfoil all at the same time. And this wasn't the worst part of it all. As he comes across my jawline... he's using so much pressured force of the wand against my skin that I feel as if I've been picked up off my feet and rammed up against a wall with a crowbar. He doesn't listen to my grunts of pure anguishing pain. Doesn't ask if I'm ok. Nothing of the sort. It was torture. Day after, more pain, swelling, bruising.
